The importance of light tubes has become self-evident in our daily life. Now T8/T5/T4 tubes are commonly used. In the past few years, T10/T12 tubes were commonly used. The most important difference between these tubes is the size. So what size do they represent?
“T" stands for "Tube", which means tubular, and the number behind T means the diameter of the lamp tube. A "T" is one-eighth of an inch. One inch is equal to 2.54cm, which is 25.4mm, so one-eighth is 3.175mm , the diameter of the T12 lamp is 3.175*12=38.1mm, similarly, the diameter of the T10 lamp is 31.8mm, the diameter of the T8 lamp is 25.4mm, which is exactly 1 inch, and the diameter of the T5 lamp is about 16mm, the diameter of the T4 lamp tube is about 12.7mm, so the difference in the diameter of the lamp tube is also shown.
